Clean Water – 400 Gifted

We joyfully announce the completion of the third project among the ongoing series of five projects in Ghana. This impactful endeavor involved the refurbishment of a hand pump borehole in Pulo, a village nestled under the Gushegu municipality in the Northern region of Ghana. Beyond mere infrastructure improvement, this project has ushered in a renewed potable, clean drinking water source for Pulo and its environs. It comprises an estimated population of 400, predominantly women and children within this polygamous practicing farming community.

Addressing Water Scarcity: The Pulo Borehole Refurbishment

Water scarcity is a persistent challenge in many rural communities, and Pulo was no exception. The refurbishment of the hand pump borehole was a strategic response to alleviate this challenge, ensuring that the community has access to water and enjoys the benefits of clean and sustainable water sources. The project’s success is measured not just in liters of water delivered but in the positive impact on health, well-being, and the overall resilience of the Pulo community.

Transformation Unveiled: Impact on Pulo

Community Resilience and Health Upliftment

The Pulo Borehole Refurbishment stands as a symbol of resilience and health upliftment for the community. With an estimated population of 400, the refurbished borehole has become a lifeline for the villagers, especially the women and children who often bear the brunt of water-related challenges. The project’s positive impact extends beyond the immediate availability of water, touching upon improved hygiene practices, health standards, and overall community well-being.

Sustainability in Action

A key highlight of the refurbishment project is its emphasis on sustainability. The hand pump borehole ensures a consistent and reliable water supply for Pulo and its environs. This shift from intermittent water availability to a dependable water source relieves the community, fostering a sense of security and reducing the burden on individuals, particularly women and children, tasked with water collection.

Polygamous Farming Community: Tailored Solutions

Recognizing Pulo’s unique characteristics as a polygamous farming community was integral to the project’s success. The borehole refurbishment addresses the community’s specific water-related challenges, aligning with Give Basic Needs’ commitment to creating targeted solutions that cater to each community’s distinct needs.

Continuing the Mission: Two Projects, Countless Lives

The Pulo Borehole Refurbishment marks the completion of the third project in our ongoing mission to bring positive change to communities in need. With two more projects on the horizon, we are steadfast in extending the transformative power of clean water to more villages, fostering health, empowerment, and sustainable development.

Join us in celebrating the success of the Pulo Borehole Refurbishment and supporting our ongoing mission. Together, we can make clean water a reality for communities like Pulo, creating a foundation for a healthier and more empowered future.
