We started giving basic needs yesterday by paying for the food of over 100 people. We allowed them to buy as much as they would’ve if we weren’t paying then after they bought, we stepped and paid, we shared our Give Basic Needs cards with them and it was heart warming seeing children, women and the aged smile with happiness while wishing our team well. We believe this will reduce suffering by allowing these people to use the money they were to use for food to buy other things important to them. Attached are photos from the market and some photos of payments made for the food both in cash and via mobile money.
