On June 27, 2026, Give Basic Needs brought The Northern Health Shield to Bamboli in the Gushegu Municipality, reaching 790 community members with integrated Medical & WASH support.

• 579 Hepatitis B vaccines administered.
• 707 people reached with deworming medication.
• 578 antibacterial soaps distributed.
• 270 sanitary pads and 70 condoms distributed.
• Digital medical records collected through the Shield App.

Kpatinga Northern Health Shield Pilot

On April 19, 2026, Give Basic Needs reached over 1,000 community members in Kpatinga, Gushegu Municipality, through a large-scale preventive medical intervention.

• 57 health professionals and volunteers mobilized.
• 630 verified clinical records captured.
• 41 positive Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and HIV cases identified.
• 502 Hepatitis B vaccines administered.
• 600 sanitary pads and 500 condoms distributed.
• 200+ children received wound care support.

The Gift of Life-Saving Water in Northern Ghana

Between 2023 and 2025, the organization completed over 11 mechanized borehole projects, expanding clean water access across rural communities.

• Nausugu-Mang, Nabule, Pulo, Sampemo, Dekpunga: clean drinking water for approximately 2,800 individuals.
• Loam, Nachem, Jingbang: boreholes commissioned for over 1,500 people.
• Damdaboli & Uffiin: boreholes installed to serve 500 and 600 residents.

Empowering Students Through Health Screenings

Preventive screenings help protect education by identifying illness early and reducing barriers linked to hygiene and health access.

• Business Senior High: screenings for over 2,200 students and 1,000 sanitary pads distributed.
• Tamale Senior High: reached 2,000 students and identified early malaria and Hepatitis B cases.
• Gushegu, Savelugu, Northern School of Business: served 2,600 additional students.

Community Medical Support

• Gmanicheri: 20 medical professionals provided screenings and consultations to 1,500 individuals.
• Tamale Office Fair: medical screenings and wellness support reached 864 residents.

Hygiene Support in Mecca, California

Collaborating with the Galilee Center, Give Basic Needs distributed 228 hygiene bags, providing essential toiletries to 912 individuals in need.

Nutrition for Students in Loreto, Mexico

At Colegio De Bachilleres 09, 350 students received a surprise delivery of burritos and fresh fruit—addressing hidden nutritional needs that can hinder learning.

A “Sweet” Surprise in Northern Ghana

• Kpatinga: 1,000 fresh pineapples distributed to families during market day.
• Kochim: 500 people surprised with pineapples, a rare nutritional treat.

Nourishing the Arctic Circle

In Coldfoot, Alaska, the foundation served 75 hot, nourishing meals to families facing extreme weather and economic challenges.

Spreading Joy in Eugene, Oregon

The organization surprised 47 people at a local Subway by covering their entire sandwich bills, totaling $612.

Community Support in Ghana

Provided 100 households (approximately 658 individuals) in Katani and Galwei with staples like polished rice, maize, and sunflower oil.

Illuminating Villages with Solar Lighting

• Tejenga: solar streetlights benefiting 500 people.
• Bakpoli: solar streetlights benefiting 450 people.

These “sentinels” reduce crime risks and help children study and play safely after dark.

Construction was completed on a solar-powered community pavilion, providing a central gathering space for 500 residents.

Rent Assistance in the United States

• Anchorage, Alaska: $40 rent support to each of the 117 households in a trailer park community.
• Eugene, Oregon: $50 toward December rent for 40 tenants to promote a ripple of positivity during the holiday season.

Community Music Festival in McCook, Illinois

Hosted a community music festival at the Stadium Club that provided resources and outreach to over 200 attendees.
