WHY IT MATTERS

When Communities Are Hard to Reach, Prevention Matters Most

Many underserved communities across Northern Ghana remain outside regular preventive medical systems. Limited access to screening, clean water, and early intervention allows preventable illnesses to spread silently.
OUR INTERVENTION

A Community-Based Medical & WASH Model

Give Basic Needs combines preventive medical screening with clean water access to reduce avoidable illness and strengthen long-term community resilience.

What Our Medical & WASH Outreach Includes

Our Community Medical & WASH Initiative combines preventive screening, vaccination support, treatment referrals, hygiene education, and clean water access to help underserved communities detect risks early and receive timely support.
Preventive Screening

Screening communities for Hepatitis B & C, HIV, malaria, typhoid, blood pressure, and other medical risks.

Vaccination & Prevention

Vaccination support, deworming, maternal health education, hygiene outreach, and malaria prevention awareness.

Treatment Referrals

Connecting positive cases to partner hospitals and health facilities for confirmatory testing, medication access, and follow-up care.

Hygiene & Dignity Support

Sanitary pads, condom distribution, wound care support, and hygiene education for vulnerable groups.

Clean Water Access

Mechanized boreholes and WASH interventions improving long-term health and reducing water-related disease risks.

Treatment Referrals

Securely tracking screenings, referrals, vaccinations, and follow-up care to strengthen continuity of care.

WASH Initiative

Clean Water Helps Prevent Disease

Each community intervention is designed to be paired with the commissioning of a mechanized borehole within the intervention community. This approach combines immediate medical support with long-term access to safe water. Boreholes are strategically installed at least 20 kilometers apart to improve clean water coverage across underserved communities.
